Annette Collins

Annette is an experienced and accomplished dancer of old-style step dancing. She is based in Co Armagh, Northern Ireland and her enthusiasm for step dancing was triggered as an adult, learning her craft from Patrick O’Dea, Michael Tubridy, Joe McGuiggan, Brenda O’Callaghan among others.  She wholeheartedly believes that it is never too late to try something that triggers an interest, and advocates the benefits of dance for both mind and body.

Annette’s reputation as a dance teacher has grown hugely since she started to teach online in May 2020, with students zooming in from Ireland, Scotland, England, across mainland Europe, not to mention USA, Canada and Japan.

Her classes and workshops are characterised by her creation of a supportive and professional environment; and by her consistently inclusive and engaging style.

Is damhsóir cumasach ar an sean-nós í Annette O’Connor, atá lonnaithe in Ard Mhacha, Tuaisceart Éireann. Duine fásta a bhí inti nuair a musclaíodh a suim sa damhsa, agus d’fhoghlaim sí a ceird ó Patrick O’Dea, Michael Tubridy, Joe McGuiggan, Brenda O’Callaghan agus daoine eile. Creideann sí ina croí istigh nach mbíonn sé riamh rómhall le triail a bhain as rud éigin nua a bhfuil spéis agat ann, agus molann sí go mór do dhaoine a bheith ag damhsa ar mhaithe leis an tsláinte choirp agus intinne. Tá aitheantas bainte amach ag Annette mar mhúinteoir damhsa, go háirithe ó thosaigh sí ag múineadh ar líne i mí Bealtaine 2020, agus anois bíonn foghlaimeoirí ag zúmáil léi ó áiteanna éagsúla in Éirinn, Albain, Sasana, mór-roinn na hEorpa, na Stáit Aontaithe, Ceanada agus an tSeapáin. Cruthaíonn sí timpeallacht thacúil agus ghairmiúil ina cuid ranganna, agus spreagann sí gach foghlaimeoir le páirt ghníomhach a ghlacadh iontu.
