Brían Ó Domhnaill

Brian Danny Minnie Ó Domhnaill was born in Annagry, Co. Donegal. His family owned a pub known for its music, and it was there that he heard traditional Irish music every summer. He was a member of the school band, and later, the local fife band. This kindled his interest in traditional music and he attended Comhaltas sessions in Mín na Croise and Gaoth Dobhair. He regular attends the Oireachtas, where he has was Corn na bhFear and numerous medals in Corn Uí Riada. He has a particular interest in usual local songs and he encourages young local singers to sing them. He has spent periods as a teacher in St Martin’s National School in Tallaght and as chef in the restaurant in Annagry. He spent a number of years on the committee of Sean-nós Cois Life. He can be heard on the albums, “Seachrán Sí “,”Trad Tráthnóna 3,” “An Ghaoth Aduaidh”,” Cascades of Song” and “Ó shleibhte Thír Chonaill go glinnte Aontroma”. He is currently working on a project with the ITMA to preserve the songs of Donegal.
 
Rugadh agus tógadh Brian Danny Minnie Ó Domhnaill in Anagaire Tír Chonaill. Bhí tábhairne ceoil ag a mhuintir agus is ann a chuala sé ceol traidisiúnta  gach samhradh. Chuaigh sé i mbanna ceoil na scoile agus níos moille sa bhuíon fife áitiúil. Mhúscail seo suim sa cheol tradisiúnta agus chuaigh sé chuig Comhaltas Mhín na Croise agus Gaoth Dobhair ag na seisiúin. D’fhrastail sé ar na hOireachtaisí ,áit ar bhain sé ,Corn na bhFear agus go leor boinn i gCorn Uí Riada. Tá suim faoi leith aige sna hamhráin áitiúla neamhghnáth agus spreagann sé go leor ceoltóirí óga na hamhráin seo a cheol. Chaith sé i rith a shaoil ag teagasc i scoil náisiúnta Naomh Máirtín i dTamhlacht agus ag cócaireacht sa bhialann in Anagaire. Chaith sé roinnt blianta ar choiste “Shean Nós Cois Life”.Tá sé le cluinstin ar na dlúth dhioscaí “Seachrán Sí “,”Trad Tráthnóna 3,” “An Ghaoth Aduaidh”,” Cascades of Song “agus “Ó shleibhte Thír Chonaill go glinnte Aontroma” Anois tá sé i mbun togra le ITMA amhráin Thír Chonaill a chaomhnú.
