rick epping

Is as California ó dhúchas é Rick Epping, ach tá sé ina chónaí in Iarthar na hÉireann, ag taisteal anonn is anall idir na Stáit Aontaithe agus Éire le breis agus caoga bliain. Tá sé ag seinm ceoil an dá thír ó bhí sé ina óige (harmonica, concertina, banjo, jaw harp) . Sheinn Rick le sárcheoltóirí éagsúla san am atá thart mar shampla, bunaitheoir Bluegrass, Bill Monroe, an giotáraí Doc Watson, an bluesman as Texas Mance Lipscomb agus an boscadóir iomráiteach Joe Cooley. Léiríonn Rick, lena chuid amhráin agus foinn téaduirlisí sean-aimseartha, blues agus ceol rince traidisiúnta na hÉireann, an oidhreacht cheoil as a dtagann sé. Chaith sé a shaoil leis an cheoil sin agus tagann a stíl pearsanta amach go beo ó na traidisiúin sin uilig.

Rick Epping (harmonica, concertina, banjo, jaw harp), a native of California and living in the West of Ireland, has been moving back and forth between the United States and Ireland for over fifty years and has been playing the music of both lands since childhood. Rick has played with past musical greats as varied as Bluegrass founder Bill Monroe, guitarist Doc Watson, Texas bluesman Mance Lipscomb and legendary Irish accordionist Joe Cooley. Rick’s performances, which include old-time stringband songs and tunes, blues and traditional dance music from Ireland and beyond, reflect the heritage passed on to him by these and many others throughout a lifetime dedicated to making their music his own.
